Women are the protagonists of numerous social changes that occurred between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. In this exhibition we will discover how masters of painting such as Auguste Renoir, Joaquin Sorolla, Santiago Rusiñol, Ramon Casas, Joaquín Torres-García, and sculptors of the importance of Manolo Hugué, Josep Clarà, Josep Llimona and Pablo Gargallo explore the rich feminine universe of this period. The exhibition is divided into different thematic areas: women and intellectuality, portraiture, the inner universe, nudes and the conquest of the outside.
The exhibition also includes a selection of pieces from the collection of the Diocesan Museum of Barcelona and recovers the memory of two extraordinary women who lived in the Barcelona of that time: Dorotea de Chopitea and Sor Eulalia Anzizu.
